PRINCESS CHRISTIAN RESIDENTIAL HOME - BISLEY GARDEN
Completed this year, the newly designed gardens for the Princess Christian care home enhance the lives of the residents by encouraging more time outdoors , enable greater independence and strengthen social connections with other residents, staff and visiting friends and family. The gardens offer opportunities to interact with nature - and the animals in the pet therapy garden. The home specialises in dementia care, therefore the gardens have been carefully designed to not only be beautiful and calming, but also safe and accessible, specifically designed with the needs of the residents in mind.
Three exterior areas have been redesigned or improved; the Bisley garden, the Pet Therapy garden and the gardens that welcome you at the front of the care home. The main residents' garden, the Bisley garden, secluded at the rear of the property, has received a full redesign. The new design includes wide wheelchair-friendly paths surrounded by sensory planting, a pergola walkway adorned with scented roses, a gentle bubbling water feature, seating areas, a new residents’ potting shed, and raised planting beds for growing fruit, vegetables and edimentals.
